Donations to The Cloud Foundation Freedom Fund
Only with your help and immediate action were we able to adopt and purchase our Freedom Fund bands after the disastrous roundup on the Pryor Mountains in September 2009. The bands are doing well as are their 2010 foals, Diego, Diablo, Annie Oakley and Pistol. We hope these youngsters will allow for the continuation of rare bloodlines that can one day rejuvenate the main Pryor herd. The bands are enjoying a beautiful new home on a 1,000 acres outside of Billings, Montana—a 2 ½ mile long creek surrounded by high flat topped hills.
Our main initiative for Cloud’s herd is the legal expansion of the boundaries of the Pryor Wild Horse Range to reflect the large historic use area of the horses. When we are successful with this effort (which will require continuing education and legal challenges), the removal of entire families will never happen again! And the BLM will have no excuse to manage the herd at the current, non-viable number.
